Black~n~Blues is a high energy and improvisational blues band that adds elements of rock, funk, and jazz to an electric blues sound. They play popular blues hits by artists such as Muddy Waters, Freddy King, BB King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jimmi Hendrix, as well as original tunes of their own (Workin’ for Your Love, Blame Yourself, Tables Turn, and Black~n~Blues). BNB features strong vocals, screaming guitar playing, slide guitar, saxophone, and bass and drum solos. The band becomes tighter and more intensely dynamic each gig they play. BNB recently had a chance to perform as the opening act for The Blue Oyster Cult at the Community Arts Center, a definite notch on the belt for the band. March 25th of 2007 Black~n~Blues competed in a regional blues competion and took first place! Making bnb a semifinalist in the International Blues Competition held in Memphis Tennessee in 2008. There will be over 100 bands from all around the world competing for the first place. Winning the regional competition also scored the opening slot at this year’s Billtown Blues Festival on June 10th 2007.
